One of the things that's been bugging me for a while now. MWDs and blockade runners.
MWDs are hard to fit, and that's fine. However, it can be really rather hard to actually fit one to some blockade runners.
Specifically, the Crane. The Crane you see, has 120 powergrid.
With Engineering 5 this is 150 powergrid. This is _just_ enough to fit a 10MN MWD, if you're not wanting to fit any other modules. The problem's actually pretty simple - almost any mid slot module uses 1 powergrid. So I have to use a reactor upgrade to fit a MWD along with a couple of shield hardners.
Crane: 120MW (150 engineering 5) - 2 low slots Prowler: 130MW (162.5MW)- 3 low slots Viator: 135MW (168.75) - 3 low slots Prorator: 150MW (187.5) - 4 low slots
Now, I don't mind that the Crane is the slowest and has least lows. The tradeoff is it has 4 mids, and the highest base cargo capacity.
I do find it irritating that it's the only one that has to fit powergrid upgrades to use a MWD. I also find it irrtitating that only 2 of the blockade runners can fit a MWD II out of the box, and they're the ones with the extra low slots to support the grid upgrades.
So please, can we have a 20mw boost to powergrid on blockade runners? (or if you're looking for percentages, 20% would do the trick)
140MW. That 20Mw makes the difference between MWD and nothing else, and MWD II and a couple of hardeners.

Don't know where you get your Prowler but my mine only have 2 low slots and one is taken by a Power Diagnostic System in order to fit MWD + Med Shield Booster. Wiould even need to be a RCU to fit a tech2 MWD.
So the Crane is not left out and is perfectly ok anyway.
My low slots are PDS and Damage control, what would you fit if the grid made the PDS/RCU unneeded? I think the ships are fine.
Additional lowslots would be good for expanders, nanos or more stabs. A prowler at least can fit a 10mn MWD and ... well any other mods actually. Although I would tend to agree, that adding in the capability for 10mn MWD II would be good.
*shrug* it's not really apocalyptically bad, it's just irritating that the ship that IMO is pretty much designed to be a fast MWD ship, is so tight on fittings you have to choose between a MWD and a shield hardener.

Seriously, I never fit an MWD on my Prowler. Why bother when you have instas. When they remove instas, then we will have to renegtiate the fittings.
That works in low sec, but not in 0.0. In 0.0 you will die if caught in a bubble without MWD.
Quite. 820m/sec with local nanos and an AB II is nice, but it'd be nicer still to be able to fit a MWD (or MWD II) without having to stack on a grid upgrade.

I'd be quite happy to suck up the MDW penalty, it's the fittings I'm worried about. Or was that what you meant?
